Dandelion

Price range: R460.00 through R840.00

This Dandelion was picked from the roadside outside Lara’s house in the Riebeek Valley. Pressing this flower is a reflection of the thread that runs through much of what Lara’s work seeks to manifest… finding beauty in the ordinary. She calls specimens like these, ‘roadside beauties’. This flower spent several weeks in the press, after which it was carefully extracted and placed onto the purest black background (BlackBlack Fabriano).

The art of pressing botanicals is a close study of colour, form and composition in nature, and this Dandelion is a perfect example of that. The entire plant from bright yellow bloom to curly leaves to its intricate roots are an absolute testament to the wonder of natur

These prints are beautifully timeless, and profound in their simplicity and vibrancy. The original pressing was scanned at a high resolution, and printed on to Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Satin.

Dimensions of black area A4 210 x 297mm | A3 297 x 420mm.

We also offer framing options… please contact us for details.

When framing use Artglass where possible… your framer should know how to get hold of it. Artglass is a glass which offers very little reflection… ideal for images with a black background.

IT MUST BE NOTED THAT WHEN BLACK INKS ARE PRINTED ON TO FINE ART PAPER AS THESE ARE, THE COLOUR BECOMES EXTREMELY FRAGILE – WHEN TOUCHED EVEN LIGHTLY IT CAN BURNISH OR MARK. OUR RECOMMENDATION WOULD BE TO LEAVE IT IN IT’S PACKAGING UNTIL IT IS IN THE HANDS OF A FRAMER
